Haven't made a post since December 2009, really?

I had no idea it had been that long. I have missed blogging. It seems life has gotten in the way. even though it hasn't been much of a life.
No pity party here. It's just been difficult these past 2 years. A 4 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. I am devoid of adult conversation. I really can't even remember what it's like to be around other people other than my family. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but sometimes it gets to be to much.
Another thing that has taken the back burner is my love of makeup and all things beauty related. Other than mascara and lip gloss and the rare occasion I wear a tinted moisturizer, i really haven't worn makeup. Really, I haven't bought makeup. I use to LOVE buying it, then coming home and swatching.
However, I actually still have bought nail polish. Maybe because it's so easy to buy. There is a large selection at my local grocery store.
This really isn't going to be a long post. Just wanted to say I've missed blogging and reading every ones blog. I miss the creative outlet it brought me. I want to come back to blogging.
Let's see where this goes next.....

A while back I won a bottle of China Glaze Fortune Teller, Seche Vite Top coat and base coat from the awesome blogger and youtuder Frantastic Makeup

Still horrible weather over here in South Texas so not so great photos. But this is one of the most awesome glitter ploshes. It is so different. The base is a black jelly with different size orange glitter. It's love.

Review: Sleek Graphite palette

I won this amazing Sleek Graphite palette from the awesome Sarah over at I Heart Cosmetics. When i found out i won i was beyond excited, because well i have been reading rave reviews on Sleek makeup. I am so sad that Sleek is not sold in the states at this time. I am official addicted and want to get my hands on all of the palettes some time soon hopefully.

On too the review. The packaging is black plastic and a perfect size to store in your kit. Each eyeshadow pan is about the size of a US nickle and there are 12 different shades ranging from highlilght, grays, black, and purples. I was most excited about this palette because i don't own any gray shadows.
The shadows are amazingly pigmented. I can't believe it is sold in drugstores. If you haven't got your hands on any of the Sleek cosmtics, I highly urge you too.

Ruby Pumps released with the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection. I can't express how much i love this color. Red jelly base with red micro glitter. Perfect application and isn't rough feeling like some glitter polishes and looks even more spectacular with the Seche Vite Top Coat.

Unfortunately the weather has been a cloudy raining mess lately so the photo was taken with a flash.

Quick Dinners with Mama Jen: Chicken and Veggie Stir fry

What you need:

1 lb chicken breast
1 large onion diced
2 bell peppers diced
1 TBSP minced ginger
1 TBSP minced garlic
10 oz bag matchstick carrots
1 can of baby corn (in the Asian section of your grocery store)
6-8 cups Broccoli
2 TBSP peanut oil
1 cup chicken stock
1 TBSP corn starch
1/4 cup soy sauce

Heat oil and add garlic and ginger cook for 1 minute. Add onion and bell pepper cook about 3 minutes. Add chicken and cook until white. Add carrots, corn and broccoli and cook about 3 minutes. Add soy sauce.

Take the chicken stock and 1 TBSP of corn starch and mix until the corn starch is dissolved and add to the pan. Bring to a boil and then let it simmer until the broth begins to thicken.

This is such an easy dish to make...use what you have. Other great veggies to add is zucchini, peas, snap peas, water chestnuts.

I used the instant white rice to make this an even quicker meal.

A Bouquet of Beauty Sci Fi contest entry

I am a huge fan of old Sci Fi films. The Blob, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and so on. I came across these 2 movie posters for Swamp Thing and Creature from the Black Lagoon and was inspired to create a look inspired by the colors from the poster. I used manly different shades of greens and some blues to create a night time look.

Quick Dinners with Mama Jen: Texas Chili

What you need:

2 lbs beef or turkey
2 cups red kidney beans (drain and rinse)
4 cups diced tomatoes
1 large onion diced
2 large green bell peppers diced
1-2 garlic cloves
3 TBSP chili powder
1 TSP cumin
1 TSP red pepper flakes
1 TSP dried oregano
2 cups water
salt and pepper to taste

How:

Brown meat, drain well and set aside. Take a couple TBSP of oil and heat. Add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and dry spices and cook for about 5 minutes or until onions become soft. Then add drained and rinsed beans, tomatoes, cooked meat, water and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and then let simmer for about 2 hours. After 30 or 45 minutes the chili is done, but the longer you let it simmer the better the chili will taste.

This chili is not a thick and hearty chili but a few ways to make it a little thicker. Take a TBSP of corn starch and 1/4 cups of water and mix and add to chili. Another trick when the chili is simmering do not put the lid on.

Top with shredded cheddar cheese and enjoy!

Quick Desserts with Mama Jen: Pumpkin Cupcakes

This is the easiest recipe for semi homemade pumpkin cupcakes.

What you need:

Spice cake mix
3 large eggs
1/3 cup of oil
1/3 water
1 TBSP cinnamon
1 15 oz can pumpkin puree
cream cheese icing

You don't have to add the cinnamon but i like to put extra. You can also substitue the oil for apple sauce to make it a little healthier.

I had to use store bought cream cheese this time but homemade cream cheese is so much better and really simple to make.

Cream Cheese Icing

2 8 oz cream cheese packages softened
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup softened butter (i prefer unsalted)
2 cups of sifted powder sugar

In a bowl mix the cream cheese first, then add other ingredients slowly until mixed!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

How sexy is this photo of me? I'm pretty sure i am the last person on the face of the earth that had never tried the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. For years I have heard about this mask. Seen numerous reviews on Make Up Alley, youtube, blogs, etc. I have always wanted to try it but it just seemed like i never actually bought it to try. Well the other day i was at Walgreen's and i decided to pick it up and see what it was all about.

On the package it claims to reduce pores, wash away blackheads and dry out acne. Now I don't have bad skin, it's by no means perfect. I really wasn't impressed with the product. OK the smell alone made me want to eat it. I love spearmint gum and to me that exactly what it smells like.

If you haven't used this before you apply it to a clean face and let it dry for about 15 minutes and then wash off with warm water. I didn't notice really any different to my skin after using it. My nose is my trouble area for blackheads and they weren't washed away. Maybe that's just me being hopeful that it could actually hold up to that claim. I can dream right?

It did however leave my skin feeling like it have been exfoliated. My face felt very smooth and clean afterward. I am not going to give up after one use and I will keep using the product to see if I notice a difference in my skin.

Quick Dinner's With Mama Jen: Mexican Lasagna

Mexican Lasagna

What you need:

1 lb ground turkey
10 corn tortillas
1 small onion
1-2 garlic cloves
16 oz refried beans
15 oz Mexican seasoned tomatoes (drain)
1 TBSP Cumin
1 TSP red pepper flakes
4-8 oz sheared cheddar
1 TBSP oil

*Other items you can add: bell pepper, zucchini, salsa instead of canned tomatoes, Monterrey Jack cheese, beef or chicken instead of turkey

Serves a family of 4

In a skillet add 1 tbsp of oil and brown meat. Add garlic, onion, tomatoes, cumin and red pepper flakes.

In a small sauce pan heat refried beans or in the microwave until they are headed thru.

Quarter corn tortillas. Line a greased 8x11 baking dish with the tortillas.

Spread half of your refried beans on top of the corn tortillas.

Layer half of the meat mixture over the beans

Next add half of your cheese, then repeat layers.

I know this isn't a figure flattering meal but if you make substitutions is can be a little healthier.

Pumpkin Patch: Showing off the kids!!

The husband and i took the kids to a pumpkin patch this weekend. I always love going to these and getting to see all different kinds of pumpkins! Our daughter Scarlett who is 2 1/2 wanted to pick up every single one and our son Zane could have cared less what we were doing. Here are a few photos of the kids and some pumpkins!!

I was tagged by Deb from The Vinyl Word and Other Musings to choose 7 things in the color she wants (purple) and add a brief explanation of the items.

1. purple post its! I use them all the time around the house to leave little reminders for me or the husband.

2. China Glaze's Flying Dragon nail polish. This is love, it is one of my fave purple polishes.

3. M.A.C. lipstick in Fashion Mews from the Hello Kitty collection. I wore this shade a lot this summer. It is so pretty and shimmery.

4. M.A.C. pigment in Full Force Violet. I love this shade. One of my fave purples to use, very pigment but a little hard to blend..i have a love hate relationship with matte pigments..lol

5. Nicole Miller purse from JcPenny. My mom bought this for me last year to use while i was at an LWML (Lutheran Woman's Missionary League) convention.

6. Purple Old Navy top. The photo makes it look more blueish purple, but it's really deep purple and i love to pair it with a black skirt and high heels.

7. Ok this purple comb i have seriously had since i was in high school. I graduated 10 years ago..so you can only imagine how long i have had it. I love this comb!!

I have about 50 pairs of shoes give or take a pair. Nothing high end or to expensive. The most expensive pair of shoes are a pair of Uggs that I've had for over 10 years and haven't worn in years. I always find myself wearing the same pair of black Reef flip flops for almost every occasion lately. I live in South Texas and we have beach weather all year. So I decided to challenge myself to shop my closest and where a different pair of shoes every day.

Today i had to run errands around town with both my little ones in tow, so that means my shoes needed to be comfy. I was very casual today wearing jeans and a black fitted t-shirt. Today's shoes are one of my faves that i haven't worn in over a year. My black and white girl Vans. How many pair of shoes do you have? How many of them do you actually wear? I think this is a fun idea to get some use out of the shoes you may not have a chance to wear that often.

I was having some fun with my nail art polishes. This is a very simple and easy design to do. You can use any colors you have.

Use 2 different colors of polish. Paint stripes at an angle on your nails. Once you are done with that take a clear polish and brush on a thin layer over the stripes to make them wet. Working quickly take a needle/toothpick and drag across the opposite direction you painted the stripes. Apply a top coat once you are finished.

The Style Black collection from M.A.C. is the first
collection in a long time that i was excited about. It seems I'm not alone in this. I was not disappointed by any of the products. The MES are amazing and of course have fallout, but the color pay off when paired with the greasepaint stick is to die for! I picked up Young Punk MES, Night Violet Mattene, Black Knight lipstick, Black greasepaint stick, Blackware and Blackfire glimmerglasses. The glimmerglasses are on the sheer side, but are nice to deepen the color of lighter lipsticks. How amazing is the greasepaint stick? I'm in love with it. Also how cool is the hidden sharpener? Some have compared it to Sharkskin shadestick, but i think this is way better. The greasepaint stick is easier to work with, deeper color and stays put once dry.

I can't wait to start playing with the products. Since I love Young Punk MES so much I think I will have to go and get the other 3 MES. If I don't I know I will regret it..lol

I am really loving Sinful Colors nail polish and you can't beat the price, $1.99 at Walgreens. The combination of the two colors makes me think of Halloween. Nail Tek Foundation II, ridge-filling base coat has saved my nails. My nails are on the weak side. They peel and break all the time. I have been using Nail Tek for over a week and I have already noticed a difference. So I can only imagine how great my nails will be in a month.

Nail Tek Foundation II fills in the gaps where i have ridges and leaves a smooth surface for easy application of polish.

Another great use for this product is to use it at a topcoat to matte out any polish. I wish i had photos to post, but i will take some the next time i do my nails. Really you can use any ridge filling base coat as a matte top coat for the most part. I have used a few other brands and they have all given me the same results.

You can purchase Nail Tek at www.transdesign.com for $4.99, that is about half the price. I really suggest this for people that have peeling nails because it makes them stronger and less likely to peel.

This nail design was very easy to do. Two coat of silver polish then take a black nail art polish and make lines in an abstract form. Simply as that.

I meant to take photos this morning but this was taken about 9 hours after application..the colors from the Kat Von D are pigment and good quality in my opinion. I used the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th color to achieve this look. All the colors can be duped for MAC e/s.

I was at my local grocery store and came across a makeup display of fun Halloween nail polish and makeup. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays..and is also the day my husband and I got married.

This polish bottle defiantly stands out from the ordinarily polish bottle and i love it. This is a glitter polish in a clear base with rainbow stripes. Very pretty over polishes.

Review: Face Primers

I have been trying out a few different face primers lately. During the summer time i always use a primer because i feel that my foundation and powder will last all day. It is very hot where i live 9 months out of the year. However, in the summer months the heat index is usually 105 or higher with 90% humidity..it's horrible in South Texas. You can only imagine what my face looks like on a hot day..well just a big ol hot mess.

First i tried out Laura Geller's Welcome Matte and loved the outcome. It is gel based and only need a small amount applied to the face. It does what it is intended to do. Reduces shine and gives me a nice matte finish. The primer left my face shine free for welll over 10 hours. I really only concentrated the use of this product on my T Zone area where i tend to be the oiliest. On days that i didn't feel like wearing a liquid foundation i would use Welcome Matte and set it with MAC MSF Natural and it was lovely. Another great part about this product is that is actually reduced the look of my pores on my cheeks. Which is always nice because the pores on my cheeks are slightly more pronounced than any where else on my face. I am very happy with this product and it's ability to keep my face looking matte and shine free. The second primer i tested out was Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer in Light. I have never tried out the original version of this primer, but have read other reviews saying it was not good for people with oily skin. I think this is a great primer for ladies with oily skin. It goes on light and feels weightless. It doesn't leave your skin feeling like an oil slick like some other primers might. A little goes a long way with this product when applying to the face. I applied all over my face after i moisturized and my skin was smooth and ready to apply my foundation. This primer made my liquid foundation go on so smoothly and effortlessly. Smashbox claims that the vitamins and antioxidants will smooth and perfect skin over time. I have noticed a significant amount of change in my complexion when using the primer. I feel this is a great primer to use any time of the year and will work for just about every skin type. RANT: Lady Speed Stick Invisible Dry

False advertisement!!! OK I wear a lot of black/dark clothing..so that means i need a deodorant that is clear and won't show up on my clothing. Is this to much to ask for?

I have been using Lady Speed Stick Invisible Dry for a few days and it doesn't do what is says it will. I applied the deodorant and then got dressed to find white residue all over the armpits of my shirt. I was NOT very happy.

I just wish I could actually find a deodorant that was invisible that wasn't a gel. I hate gel, it feels like it never drys and that my armpits are squishy lol.

Do you have any recommendations for me to try..ones that have worked for you.

Review: Soap & Glory

I always pass by the Soap& Glory products at Target but never pick any up. Finally about a month ago i picked up the Scrub Triangle Mini gift set which includes Flake Away, The Righteous Butter and Clean on me shower gel, and as well as Greatest Scrub of All.

The Soap & Glory gift set can be purchased for $9.99. That is a good deal so you can sample the products for less before you buy the full size product.

Clean on Me creamy clarifying shower gel is soothing and cleansing. However, i didn't find this product to be outstanding. To me it is just the same as any cream based shower get, nothing to fancy about it. The scent to me is on the masculine side, my husband liked the smell, but i can not say the same about myself. The full size bottle costs $9.99

The Righteous Butter is smooth and creamy. It is a body butter, but feels more like thick lotion..if that makes any sense. When applied it leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturized. It has the same scent as the Clean on Me shower gel. Again this product is not outstanding there are many other products out in the market that are just as good or better. The full size product cost's $14.99

The stand out product of the gift set was Flake Away. Flake away is a body scrub that worked magic on my dry skin. I have never used a body scrub before using this product and i am now addicted. There are large grains of salt that exfoliate the dead/dry skin on the body. And it did just that. I used it from my neck down and my skin felt like a baby afterwards. I never knew my skin could feel so soft. I having been using Flake Away twice a week for a month and my skin is smooth and soft and i will continue the use of this product. Another area on the body that the scrub works wonders on is the feet. I took some product and massages it into my feet and exfoliated the dry skin and left them feeling smooth as well. The full size jar can be purchased for $9.99 and is worth every penny in my opinion.

The next item i picked up from Soap & Glory was their Greatest Scrub of All. It a facial scrub that is meant for all skin types. Now I wouldn't say this is the great scrub of all time, but it is really good. There are tiny little beads that burst when you press them on the skin. This is a very gentle scrub and shouldn't irritate your skin. The directions say to use it 2-4 times a week or oily skin and less if you have dry/sensitive skin. I have been using it everyday since i purchased it. My skin is left feeling exfoliated and smooth. However, this is not the scrub to use if you are looking for blackhead reduction. Before this i was using St. Ives Apricot scrub to remove blackheads and it was working, but the Soap & Glory and little to no effect on my blackheads. This is the main reason i don't think it is the greatest facial scrub. If you are looking for a gentle scrub to use daily this would be ideal in my opinion. This scrub cost $12.99.

I am just letting anyone that reads my blogs the reason i haven't been posting is because my computer is getting fixed..i have been so lost without it..lol. I have my phone but it just isn't the same. I have so many reviews coming up for products I've been testing out.

I am also announcing that i will be having a contest as soon as i reach 50 followers..almost half way there. So i have been picking up a few things here and there to add to the prizes. So keep an eye out for that.

Review: Beyond The Zone Get'n Creamed

I picked this up to replace my empty bottle of Bed Head's After Party. I have nothing but good thing's to say about this product. It is about half the price of the Bed Head one at $6.50 for 3.4 oz. I have short to medium hair and all i need is one pump. I use this product after i have styled my hair to smooth out the end and add some shine. I think this hair care product is just as good as Bed Heads After party and since it is cheaper that is a plus in my book.

It does everything it says it will. I will definitely be buying this one again. You can pick it up at your local Sally's Beauty Supply. If you are a card member you can get it a little cheaper too.

Review: Beyond the Zone Turn Up the Heat flat iron protection spray

I am one who likes to find a less expensive alternative to a product i love. I picked this heat protection spray up on a trip to Sally's to see how it worked. I used very little of this product but it left my hair VERY oily looking. I was not impressed with this product. I've used it for a while to see if it really does protect my hair from heat and in my opinion it doesn't. My hair seems to be drier and frayed on the ends than before. I will not be purchasing this product again.

How young is to young to wear makeup outside of the house?

I started wearing "real" makeup when i was a freshmen in high school, and even then i didn't wear much. How old were you? This thought has been running through my mind for awhile. I have taken a notice of very young girls dressing way beyond their years.

I am the mother of a 2 1/2 year old daughter that is allowed to dress up in her plastic high heels and play with makeup. She has fun doing it, but she understands that it is playing dress up. Today while running errands i was at Target and as always i was in the beauty section and i could over hear a mother letting her daughter pick out fake press on nails for the first day of school..the little girl couldn't have been older than 7. My mother would have never let me wear fake nails at such a young age. But in this society it seems acceptable for a little girl to wear mini skirts, midriff bearing shirts, heels, and the list goes on.

It scares me about my little girl growing up and wanting to dress this way..which my husband has already said over his dead body will she be wearing makeup and mini skirts..lol I just think we should let them be little. If they start wearing makeup, heels, fake nails then they can't look forward to doing those things when they are older. Maybe i am just to conservative.

Do you have any opinions on this?

Review: Orly Nail Treatments

I love doing my nails...painting them a single color or going crazy with a fun design. However my hands are abused. They are always wet or digging into my purse/diaper bag, etc...

I use to think that base coats and top coats were just a waste of money. I never used them until a couple of years ago. I have tried many different ones and found them to fail me.

Lately I've been using the combination of Orly Bonder base coat and Sec n Dry topcoat. On the back it claims that it was help your polish to last 2 weeks....well that's not true for me, but this is the best combination i like so far.

Bonder is a great base for my polishes and allows them to go on smooth. Sec' n Dry can be a little tricky i find. With any fast drying topcoat you need to apply while your polish is wet..this is an important step in the process so don't wait for the last coat of polish to dry.

Like i said before my hands are severally put to work daily. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 4 month old. Giving them baths, myself, washing dishes, laundry and the list goes on of my daily work. So as you can imagine if my nail polish lasts the day it is a miracle. With this combination my polish has lasted 4 days with only slight tip wear..this is a MIRACLE in my book.

Review: Clean & CLear Oil Free Dual Action Moisturizer

As you can tell i have been trying out Clean & Clear skin care products. Well, my skin just doesn't like them one bit.

The dual action moisturizer actually feels greasy on my skin..it says it is oil free. It is thin in texture and light weight but leaves my skin feeling oily and shinny. This product was not very moisturizing either. After application it sinks into your skin pretty fast and left my skin feeling drier than before i put it on. The dual action moisturizer retails for $5.49 and can be found in your local grocery store and drugstores.

Review: Clean & CLear Oil Free Foaming Facial Cleanser

Clean & Clear oil free foaming facial cleanser retails for $3.49+ tax. The cleanser is medicated to help prevent bacteria and acne. My face had major reactions to this product. It burned when applied and left my skin uncleaned. I have been using this product for 2 weeks and i have had major breakouts. My skin is combination of oily and dry and i usually have very few breakouts..if i do get a pimple its one or two and they go away in a couple days. Since using Clean & Clear i have had 8 pimples and they were not going away. Now that i have stoped using the product my skin has gone back to normal.

I don't recommend this product if you have sensitive skin. I will not be purchasing this product again.

Wet n Wild Aura Color Chaging Gloss

I picked up Wet n' Wild AURA color changing gloss for $3.99 +tax. I have always wanted to try Smashbox O Gloss but never wanted to pay $22 for a sheer pink gloss. I can't compare the two glosses but from reviews of the Smashbox one they seem to be exactly the same. When first squeezed out of the tube the gloss is clear, but once worked into the lips it becomes a bright sheer almost hot pink gloss on my lips. The gloss is not thick or sticky but is not long wearing. For $3.99 i think this a nice gloss to have in your purse.

Review: Essie Nail Treatments

I purchased these Essie nail treatments at my local grocery store for 99 cents a piece. I thought this was a great way to test out a few of Essie nail treatments without forking over the full price. Essie nail treatments can range in price from $8-10 depending on where you are purchasing them.

First off, Good to Go fast drying topcoat is AMAZING...it dried really fast within 5 minutes you could touch, but still of course don't go rubbing your nails really hard. 10-15 minutes later my nails were completely dry and there was no creasing or imprints. Left my nails shinny and pretty. This particular topcoat does not have a high shine or glossy look.

Essie Apricot cuticle oil is the best thing to happen to my nails. I had never used this before. The first time i tried it out, i put a little over my cuticles and rubbed it in. It left my cuticles super soft . Side note i have really dry hands and nails. This is a must have if you want to keep your cuticles looking great between manicures.

Fill in the ridge disappointed me. I do not buff out my ridges because my nails are on the thin side. I have been looking for a ridge filler that would work for me and this one is not it. Ridge fillers can be used instead a regular base coat. First of all it did not even out my nail bed and when used as a base coat it made my nail polish drag and impossible to apply. It was a mess.

First Base base coat is one of the best base coats i have ever used. After applying it and letting it dry i applied my nail polish. My nail polish has never applied smoother in my life. This is another product i will be buying when i have finished with the sample size.

MAC Love That Look collection

MAC Love That Look collection was released a couple weeks ago. I was finally able to check out the collection this past weekend in person. The eyeshadow's in the collection are the Starflash formula. A few of the colors were repromotes from the original release of Starflash last year.

I was disappointed in the color range of this collection. However, with that said IMO i think Starflash is the BEST formula MAC has to offer..they really need to make it permanent. Most of the colors in this collection are dupe able, but the only one that left home with me was One-Off. I am a lover all all green eyeshadow. One-Off is described as a mid tone green with silver pearl. I love it!!

When i went home i swatched a bunch of my green eyeshadow to make sure i didn't have anything that was exactly the same. I found that One-Off is the love child of Urban Decays Graffiti and MAC's Gulf Stream.

Review: Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash

I am always on the look out for great drugstore skincare products. While at my local grocery store i picked up Clean & Clear Sensitive Skin Foaming Face wash. I was able to get this product for free with an in store coupon, so i jumped at the chance to try it out. On the bottle it says it will remove your makeup. I used only a pump full of product to wash my face and it hardly removed any of my makeup. After washing my face with the Clean & Clear i still had to go back with my makeup wipes to remove the leftover makeup residue on my face. I do not like this product at all, it didn't clean my face and barley removed any of my makeup. I believe this product is around $4 and i will not my buying this again. I was happy that i didn't have to use my own money on this product.

Do you collect makeup?

First off i own more makeup than i will ever use in my life time. I really shouldn't purchase anymore, but of course i still do. My question is do you buy makeup to use or to just collect it? I am always on Specktra looking at the new MAC collections coming out, peoples "hauls" and the traincase section is always fun to look at. I am always amazed at how much makeup other women have. I serioulsy use to think i had to much makeup (i really do) but then I saw what other people had and then realized i didn't have much when comparing to others. I guess i see myself as having to much because out of my friends and family i am the only one that is really into makeup.
When i buy a new product i buy it to use and then usually it gets put in a drawer and forgotten about. I have been getting a lot better. I have stopped buying the same colors over and over again and i am using new colors everyday. I want to use all of my beautiful makeup, instead of it just collecting dust on my vanity.

awww..i LOVE this photo of my daughters fat legs. She was 9 months in this photo. She is now 2 1/2 years old. I was always snapping photos of her and i can remember sitting on the couch seeing her stand by the sliding doors. I grabbed my camera and started to take photos of her too cute fatty legs. I love how it looks like she is doing a ballet dance move. She LOVES to dance, next year when she is 3 we are putting her in dance classes.

Review: St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control

It seems like this is a staple in many women skin care regime. I was looking for a exfoliate to use on my skin everyday that would help remove dead skin, blackheads and make my skin feel smooth. So on a trip to Target i picked the St. Ives Apricot Scrub up for $3.29 +tax. Great price, so if i didn't like it it's not like it would break the bank.

First off, i tend to have reactions to face treatments for acne/blemish control. After the first use my skin felt so smooth and it was not left red or dry. After 3 uses i started to notice the blackheads that i can NEVER remove from my nose were starting to disappear. This made me very happy.

For me this product is great. Cheap, easy to find and works exactly like it says it will. This scrub was not to harsh for my skin so i used it every morning when i took a shower. The only downfall is if you have really dry patches on your face i find that this product does not remove them. I have very dry patches around my nose due to chronic sinus problems.

As of right now i will still by this product again until i find a product that is better. I highly recommend this product and i can see why so many ofter women are using it.

MAC Love That Look

I must have forgotten that this collection came out. I didn't buy any of the e/s the first time Starflash was released..i just didn't feel any of them at the time. However, this time around I'm FEELING quite a few of them.

But i need some one to tell me NOT to buy Rated "R" e/s. Greens always call my name. I was looking at my ever growing collection of green e/s last night and counted 8 e/s that look pretty much like Rated "R". I have MAC's Eyepopping, Bitter, Overgrown and NARS Rated R due just to name a few. So i know i really don't need it but oh how i want it.

As of right now i think i will only get Fashion, One-off and Strike and Pose. That's all i need right?

Five of My Current Obsessions

1. Twitter- it's sad but i check my twitter maybe 30 times a day and i am always posting the most random things.

2. Nail polish- I have always loved doing my nails but now i change them every few days and i keep buying nail polish like it's going outta style.

3. Mints-yeah the little breath mint kind..lol..i eat them all the time, what can i say they taste good.

4. Cooking- Recently i told my husband that we spend to much money eating out that it's getting ridiculous. So I have decided to start experimenting with cooking..i never really cooked before. It's been so much fun coming up with my own recipes and getting inspiration from cooking shows.

5. Art- I've been getting more into painting/drawing. I use to do it all the time when i was younger but since i started having kids that was kinda put on the back burner.

Illamasqua FINALLY at Sephora

I found out about this brand Illamasqua about 6 months ago and have been wanting to buy their products so bad. They seem like they are really great quality, and so far what i have seen on youtude makes me really want everything.lol I hadn't made a purchase yet because i didn't want to pay the shipping cost. So when i read that Illamasqua was coming to Sephora i was beyond excited!! I'm most interested in trying out the foundations..I can never find the perfect foundation...some are to pink other to yellow/orange. The prices are higher than MAC but about the same as MUFE..so that's not to bad..right?

Who else will be buying from this line? I hope to make a purschase really soon.

How many lipsticks do you have?

Early today Lipstick Rules posted a blog about how she counted her lippe stash after reading someone else blog and it got me thinking as well. So i took all the lipsticks and glosses out of their drawer. I seriously thought i only had maybe 20-30 glosses and knew i would have a few more lipsticks. I was shocked when i counted to find i had 59 lipglosses and 61 lipsticks.. that's a lot for me lol. So i don't see how i need any more lippes cause I'm sure i have almost ever color that i need.

I think i will join in the challenge and start to wear a different lip color combo everyday.

I am no longer that interested in this collection. After seeing swatches of the Suntints and seeing how there is absolutely no pigmentation only shimmer i will be passing these up. However, I am still pretty excited about the Studio Moisture Tint.

You would think with all the technology in the world they could develop the perfect mascara formula already. I have tried quite a few mascaras in my time and i have yet to really find my HG mascara. Even the ones i love could always be better, none of them are perfect. Maybe i'm just asking for to much.

I am sooo looking forward to the Style Black collection from MAC. The products it self are not original, but the idea of entire collection in black makes me drool. I am going to be purchasing EVERYTHING from this collection..yippie. So hopefully i won't be disappointed.

I really want the nail color from Sephora by OPI in Ocean Love Potion.

I have seen several gurus on youtube using these nail art pens and they look like lots of fun. I have serveral of the Salley Hansen Nail art pens and i HATE them. The Migi pens have a finer point and looks easier to make a desgin.
OMG..i need these. I am a HUGE lippie fan. And everyone is raving about thise Lip Tars from Obessive Compulsive Cosmetics.
I am not a huge fan of neutral/natraul colors but for some reason i'm drawn to this Urban Decay palette

I wish they had a magic wand that made this easier. Everyone tells me girls are so easy to potty train. HAHA Not so much in my case. Everyday is different...some times she does it on her own other times she'll pee on the floor like a puppy..lol we need some help over here casue i really don't want to have to buy training pants and diapers

You know those days where nothing goes right. The children are having meltdowns galore. You stub your toe on the bouncy chair. Cut your finger while cooking dinner. The husband does nothing to help because he says he's tired from being at work all day. Yeah it's been one of those days. I just want to pull my hair out and scream. Thinking of saying I'm going to to store for cigarettes, even though i don't smoke and never returning. But what will that accomplish, NOTHING. I just take a step back and take a very deep breath and count to 1o.

Being a stay at home mom is a 24/7 job, that many people don't think of as being work...BUT IT IS. I love my kids and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. However, sometimes it gets overwhelming. The great thing is those hard days are few and far between. Most days are filled with smiles and laughter.

There are those times when all i want to do is take a day off and go out by myself..to the mall, grab some food, ANYTHING. I just wish the husband really understood how hard it can be to stay home all the time with 2 small children. He says he knows that it can be difficult, but no one really knows until they are actually doing it

I can't enough good things about this product. The only negative thing is the color selection. It only come in Light and Medium. So if you have really dark eyebrows that are sparse the darkest color in Medium might work for you.

The compact comes with a highlight color, 2 brows colors, a sponge tip applicator, tweezers, and a angle brush .

First, I just threw out the sponge tip because I will never use it. OK, the tweezers and brush are SMALL to say the least, but surprisingly easy to use. The angle brush makes the application of the powder very easy and flawless.

The 2 brow powder colors are meant to be used together to get the perfect color.

All in all this is a great product for anyone to have in their makeup kit. The price is perfect for almost any ones budget. I think this product is a must have for anyone that is always searching for the next best eyebrow product.

so finally i have figured out what i want to do as a career...i want to become a esthetician . i would have to go back to school for this, but from what i've heard that if i go full time i could finish in about 6 months. deciding what to do was the easy part now just getting the money to go back to school, not sure where i can get that kind of money right now. why does life have to be so hard sometimes.

First i am a mother to a 2 year old daughter named Scarlett and a 5 week old son named Zane.
I have been married to my husband Tom for almost 2 1/2 years..it will be 3 years this Halloween....
and well that pretty much is my life right now..sad? Just a little....i'm trying to figure out how to change that...oh did i mention that i turned 28 in January and i have yet to graduate from college..slacker or what?
